Welcome, Mr. Benjamin Roberts!

The Tuckahoe Union Free School District is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Benjamin Roberts as our next Superintendent of Schools.

 

After an extensive and highly competitive search process, the Board of Education selected Mr. Roberts for his outstanding experience, thoughtful leadership, and strong commitment to student success. He brings over 25 years of experience in public education as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and principal. He currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Special Projects for the Freeport Union Free School District, where he supports more than 6,800 students and 1,200 staff members.

 

Mr. Roberts has a proven track record as a student-centered educator, collaborative communicator, and strategic leader. He has extensive experience in personnel management, labor negotiations, school safety planning, curriculum implementation, and building inclusive, supportive environments for students and staff. His efforts were recognized in 2023 when he received the prestigious SCOPE Award for Outstanding Administrative Service.

 

We are excited to welcome Mr. Roberts and his family to Tuckahoe. We believe his leadership will build on the District’s strong foundation and help us continue our upward trajectory—advancing excellence, innovation, and opportunity for all our students. This strong foundation is a testament to the exceptional leadership of Dr. Amy Goodman, who has made significant and lasting improvements to our schools during her tenure. Her dedication to academic rigor, operational efficiency, and student well-being has positioned Tuckahoe for continued success, and we are deeply grateful for her service and commitment.

 

Please join us in warmly welcoming Mr. Benjamin Roberts as the new Superintendent of the Tuckahoe Union Free School District.  Mr. Roberts will be working closely with the Board of Education and the current Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Amy Goodman, in the coming weeks to ensure that a seamless leadership transition occurs for the District.  Mr. Roberts will officially begin serving in his new role as Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2025.
