Fall 2019 Capital Project Update
Significant progress has been made on the capital project construction this fall. The additions at William E. Cottle School are coming together and we are excited about the momentum. Earlier this fall, the district decided to move certain aspects of the construction work at William E. Cottle School to a second shift (3:30pm-12:00am). Our objective is to reduce distractions and provide an optimal learning environment for our students. Quiet work is also being completed during the day.
Despite the previously communicated set back involving discovery of an underground oil tank, construction on the Cottle security vestibule is now moving forward and is expected to be complete approximately February/March 2020.
The refurbishment of the William E. Cottle field has not yet begun due to several factors, including its use for construction staging. The Board of Education has earmarked the funds originally allocated to this portion of the project and has stated that it does not intend to repurpose those funds for any other projects.
It is anticipated that the final work on the TMS/THS security vestibule will be complete in December.
We thank you for your continued patience as we look forward to enjoying all the benefits of these new and transformed spaces in the near future!
